Clitheroe Masjid will be a real hub of the community for all in Clitheroe, and we are dedicated to providing services both on and off- site to be a force for cohesion and community development in the area.
Clitheroe Masjid will offer public worship facilities for the obligatory prayers which are performed five times a day, and the Friday Jummah, Eid and Tarawee prayers.
The masjid will also play a key role in the development of spirituality and high moral standards in the community, which will be achieved through a wide range of activities including classes, educational lectures, study circles, seminars and events.
Our building will house a hall that will be available for hire by all in the community, providing the perfect venue for large- scale events and gatherings.
Dawah (invitation to Islam)
We will be dedicated to providing dawah (invitation to Islam) and information to the wider community about the Islamic faith.
Our doors will be open to all members of the community, with a café and refreshment area where people can come together and access information and literature about Islam in a warm, friendly and welcoming environment.
The centre will be equipped for Islamic funerals, including preparation and cleansing facilities, as well as a private space for bereaved families.
Facilities have been designed with inclusivity and accessibility firmly in mind, including a ladies’ prayer hall and wash facilities, crèche, disabled access, community meeting space and more.
